SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm) is special. It marks the 10th anniversary of Shankar Mahadevan Academy. This online concert will feature solo and group performances that will be watched by music maestros who will grace the event. Broadcasted worldwide, the sessions will regale your family, friends, and music lovers across the planet.

SANGAM Online Live would be held over 3 sessions.

Session 1: Schools and students of Grow with Music.
Session 2 & 3: Hindustani, Carnatic, Voice Gym, Songs, Instruments students.

Am I eligible to participate in SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm)?

If you have signed up for any instructor-led course with Shankar Mahadevan Academy before January 5, 2021, and you are an active student as of March 1, 2021, you are eligible to participate in SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm).

Is there an age limit for participation?

As long as you are above 4 years, there is no upper age limit for participation! If you are less than 4, we advise you to wait and look out for the upcoming SANGAMs – we will have one each year!

When will the rehearsals for SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm) begin?

Rehearsals for SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm) will start on January 25, 2021. However, your rehearsals may start later than that, depending on your group and your teacher’s availability.

Will I have access to the class recordings for the rehearsal sessions?

Yes, you will be provided with access to your class recordings for rehearsal sessions.

Can I sing a solo?

In order to qualify for a solo performance, you need to be enrolled in an HV205 or above course for Hindustani Vocalists, or CV205 and above for Carnatic Vocalists. Please note, you will be auditioned by the Curriculum Coordinator, and will be selected only if you fit the requirements of the program. If the program does not have solos but duets, you will be selected for the same.

What is the last day to sign up for rehearsals?

The last day to sign up for rehearsals is January 15, 2021.

How will I submit my videos?

We will send you directions to record and submit your videos at the end of your rehearsal sessions. Look out for our guideline email and video. Don’t worry – most of it can be done using a good mobile phone.

When will SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm) be held?

SANGAM Online Live 2021(tm) is scheduled to be held in April and May 2021. Students of our Grow With Music program will have a separate session earlier in April. We will convey the final dates to you by January 2021.
